DESCRIPTION
A connecting rod bearing, also known as a stud bearing and identified by part number 3640765, is a vital component in an engine's rotating assembly. It is responsible for reducing friction between the connecting rod and crankshaft journal during engine operation. The stud bearing is made up of two halves that fit snugly around the connecting rod and are held together by bolts or studs. These bearings are typically made from a soft material such as bronze or aluminum to allow for slight movements during operation while maintaining proper lubrication. Over time, these bearings can wear down due to high mileage or lack of maintenance, leading to decreased performance and possible engine damage if not replaced promptly.
