DESCRIPTION
An Engine Brake Kit, also known as a Jake Brake, is an aftermarket upgrade for diesel engines that helps slow down the vehicle without using the brakes. The kit includes components such as solenoids, rocker arms, and engine brake housings that work together to create resistance in the engine's cylinders. When activated by the driver, the engine brake restricts airflow into the cylinders causing compression braking which slows down the vehicle. This reduces wear and tear on brake pads and can improve fuel efficiency by reducing reliance on traditional braking methods. The 3800444 Engine Brake Kit is a specific model designed for use with certain types of truck engines.
