DESCRIPTION
An Aftercooler Core, also known as an intercooler or charge air cooler, is a component in a truck's engine that cools the compressed air from the turbocharger before it enters the engine intake manifold. This is important because cooler air is denser than hot air, which means more oxygen can be packed into the same volume of air. The result is a more efficient combustion process and increased power output. The Aftercooler Core works by passing hot compressed air through a network of tubes that are cooled by ambient air flowing over them. This causes the heat to transfer from the compressed air to the surrounding environment, resulting in cooler and denser intake air for improved engine performance. Part Number 3897203 refers to a specific model or type of Aftercooler Core used in some trucks.
