DESCRIPTION
The Heater Resistor, also known as the Blower Motor Resistor, is a vital part of a commercial truck's heating and cooling system. This small but mighty part is responsible for regulating the speed of the blower motor fan, which controls the flow of air through the vents. The Heater Resistor achieves this by controlling the amount of electrical current that flows to the blower motor.
Without the Heater Resistor, the blower motor fan would only operate at one speed, which could be either too weak or too strong for the driver's comfort. The Heater Resistor ensures that the blower motor fan operates at the correct speed, providing the driver with the perfect amount of airflow to keep the cab at a comfortable temperature. If the Heater Resistor fails, the blower motor fan may only operate at one speed or not at all, making it difficult to regulate the temperature inside the cab.
