DESCRIPTION
The Short Caliper, also known as the brake caliper, is a vital part of a commercial truck's braking system. It is responsible for applying pressure to the brake pads, which then clamp down on the rotor to slow or stop the vehicle. The Short Caliper is made up of several components, including the caliper housing, pistons, and brake pads.
When the driver presses the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure is sent to the Short Caliper, causing the pistons to push the brake pads against the rotor. This friction generates heat, which is then dissipated by the rotor and the surrounding air. The Short Caliper is designed to withstand high temperatures and extreme pressure, ensuring reliable and consistent braking performance. Without a properly functioning Short Caliper, a commercial truck would be unable to stop safely and efficiently, putting the driver and other motorists at risk.
