DESCRIPTION
The Rear Brake Cover, also known as the Backing Plate, is an essential part of the braking system in commercial trucks. It is a metal plate that is bolted to the axle housing and serves as a protective shield for the brake components. The Rear Brake Cover is designed to keep dirt, debris, and moisture away from the brake shoes and wheel cylinders, preventing premature wear and damage.
In addition to protecting the brake components, the Rear Brake Cover also provides a mounting point for the brake shoes and wheel cylinders. The brake shoes are attached to the backing plate with clips or pins, while the wheel cylinders are bolted to the plate.
