DESCRIPTION
The Rear Brake Pickup Sensor, also known as part number MK585157, is a component of the braking system in trucks. It is responsible for detecting the movement of the brake rotor and transmitting this information to the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. The sensor works by generating an alternating current as it passes over a toothed ring on the back of the rotor. This current is then sent to the ABS module, which uses it to determine the speed and position of the rotor. This information is crucial in preventing wheel lock-up during braking, improving overall safety and control of the vehicle. If the Rear Brake Pickup Sensor fails, it can result in decreased braking performance or even complete brake failure.
