DESCRIPTION
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Tank is a component of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system that stores DEF, a non-hazardous solution made of urea and deionized water. The DEF tank is designed to hold a sufficient amount of DEF to last between oil changes and is typically located near the fuel tank. The DEF is injected into the exhaust stream to reduce harmful emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from the diesel engine. The part number 5417618 is a DEF tank manufactured by Cummins®.
