DESCRIPTION
The Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Tank, also known as the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Tank, is a component of modern diesel engines that helps reduce harmful emissions. The DEF Tank stores a non-toxic solution made of urea and water which is injected into the exhaust system to convert nitrogen oxides into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. The DEF Tank typically has a capacity of 5-10 gallons and requires regular refilling. It is important to use high-quality DEF fluid and keep the tank clean to prevent contamination which could damage the SCR system. The part number for this component is 5417603.
