DESCRIPTION
A Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank, also known as a DEF tank, is a component of a truck's exhaust system that stores DEF, an aqueous urea solution used to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides from diesel engines. The DEF is injected into the exhaust stream to convert harmful pollutants into harmless nitrogen and water. The tank is made of durable materials such as plastic or stainless steel and is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and weather conditions. It has a capacity ranging from 5 to 25 gallons depending on the vehicle's size and usage. The tank comes with sensors that monitor the fluid level and temperature, ensuring optimal performance of the emission control system. Proper maintenance of the DEF tank is essential for efficient operation of modern diesel trucks.
