DESCRIPTION
The Idle Spring Plunger, also known as part number 145962, is a small cylindrical component found in the carburetor of a truck. It functions as a mechanism to regulate the idle speed of the engine. When the throttle is closed, this plunger compresses a spring which pushes against the throttle linkage and slows down the engine's idle speed. As soon as the accelerator pedal is pressed again, the spring expands and allows for an increase in engine speed. The Idle Spring Plunger plays an important role in ensuring proper engine performance and fuel efficiency while idling.
