DESCRIPTION
The Idle Spring Plunger (part number 145947) is a small component found in diesel engines that helps regulate the idle speed of the vehicle. It works by pushing against the idle spring to change the position of the throttle linkage, which controls how much air flows into the engine. When the plunger is pushed in, it increases the amount of air and raises the idle speed. Conversely, when it is pulled out, it decreases air flow and lowers idle speed. The Idle Spring Plunger plays an important role in maintaining proper engine performance and should be inspected regularly to ensure proper function.
