DESCRIPTION
The Starter Solenoid, also known as the starter relay, is an electrical component found in most vehicle engines. It is responsible for transmitting an electrical current from the battery to the starter motor, allowing the engine to start up. The solenoid acts as a switch that controls the flow of electricity to the starter motor by opening and closing a set of contacts. When the ignition key is turned, a small current flows through the solenoid's coil, creating a magnetic field that pulls on a plunger inside. This plunger then connects two large contacts together, allowing high-current electricity to flow from the battery to the starter motor. The Starter Solenoid can be found mounted on or near the starter motor itself and can be identified by its unique part number 4019884.
