DESCRIPTION
The crankshaft pulley, also known as the harmonic balancer, is a component that attaches to the front of the engine's crankshaft and is responsible for driving various engine accessories such as the alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor. The pulley's function is to reduce vibrations caused by the engine's internal combustion process. The crankshaft pulley achieves this through its design which includes a rubber layer between two metal pieces that absorbs and dampens any vibrations. The part number 4968135 refers to a specific type of crankshaft pulley designed for use in certain trucks.
