DESCRIPTION
A Lock Plate, also known as a Retaining Plate or Tab, is a small metal component found in automotive braking systems. Its purpose is to prevent the brake pads from slipping out of place and causing a loss of braking power. The Lock Plate is typically made of steel and is installed behind the brake pads, holding them firmly in place against the caliper. It is secured with bolts or clips and can be easily removed for maintenance or replacement. The 551108 model Lock Plate is specifically designed for use in certain truck models and ensures proper functioning of the braking system by keeping the brake pads securely fastened to the caliper.
