DESCRIPTION
A dataplate, also known as a serial number plate, is a small metal or plastic plate that is affixed to a truck component and displays important information about the part. The dataplate typically includes the manufacturer's name, model number, and part number for easy identification and reference. It may also include additional details such as manufacturing date, weight capacity, and safety certifications. The dataplate serves as an essential tool for mechanics and technicians who need to quickly identify parts during repairs or maintenance. Without a proper dataplate, it can be difficult to determine the correct replacement part for a specific component.
