DESCRIPTION
A piston kit, identified by part number 4089968, is a set of components used in the engine of a truck to transfer force generated by combustion to the crankshaft. The kit usually includes one or more pistons, piston rings, and wrist pins. The piston itself is a cylindrical component made of metal that moves up and down within the engine cylinder. The piston rings fit around the circumference of the piston and provide a seal between it and the cylinder wall to prevent fuel leakage. Wrist pins connect the pistons to connecting rods which ultimately transfer power from the engine to other components such as wheels or transmission systems.
