DESCRIPTION
A catalytic converter is an emissions control device that is typically installed in the exhaust system of a truck. It converts harmful pollutants, such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, into less harmful gases before they are released into the atmosphere. The catalytic converter contains a ceramic honeycomb structure coated with precious metals such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium. When exhaust gases pass through this structure, a chemical reaction takes place that breaks down the pollutants into less harmful substances like carbon dioxide and water vapor.
