DESCRIPTION
A piston kit is a set of components that includes the piston, piston rings, wrist pins, and circlips. The piston is the cylindrical component that moves up and down inside the engine cylinder, converting fuel energy into mechanical motion. The rings are installed on the outer surface of the piston to prevent oil from entering the combustion chamber and to seal in gases during combustion. Wrist pins connect the piston to the connecting rod, allowing it to pivot as it moves up and down. Circlips hold everything in place by fitting into grooves on either side of the wrist pin boss. Part number 3800345 refers to a specific type of piston kit designed for use in trucks with compatible engines.
