Housing Attaching Parts The housing attaching parts are a group of components that work together to secure the rear axle housing to the truck's suspension system. The U-bolt is a curved bolt that wraps around the axle and attaches to the leaf spring, providing stability and preventing lateral movement. The leaf spring shackle connects the leaf spring to the frame, allowing for vertical movement in response to bumps in the road. The leaf spring eye bolt secures one end of the leaf spring to either the frame or axle. The leaf spring pin, also known as a center bolt, secures both ends of the leaf spring together. The spring hanger bracket, which can be front or rear-facing, attaches to both ends of each leaf spring and supports them against lateral forces. The torque rod bushing, located on each side of the vehicle, helps control torque and twisting force between axles during acceleration and braking. Finally, there is a saddle bracket that fits over a rubber cushion used for securing pipes or cables along with a central bearing support (part number: 3871596) that supports drive shafts at their center point while reducing vibration and noise caused by drivetrain rotation.
