DESCRIPTION
A Heat Shield (part number 4334989) is a component of a truck's exhaust system that is designed to protect nearby parts from the high temperatures generated by the exhaust. The heat shield consists of a metal plate, usually made of aluminum or stainless steel, that is bolted onto the exhaust pipe or muffler. It helps to prevent heat damage to nearby components such as wiring, fuel lines, and brake lines. Additionally, it can reduce noise and vibration caused by the exhaust system. Without a properly functioning heat shield, these components may be at risk of damage which could lead to costly repairs and potential safety hazards on the road.
