DESCRIPTION
The Turbocharger Heat Exchanger, also known as the intercooler or charge air cooler, is a truck component designed to cool down the compressed air produced by the turbocharger before it enters the engine. As compressed air heats up during compression, cooling it down before it reaches the engine increases its density and oxygen content, resulting in improved combustion efficiency and increased power output. The heat exchanger typically consists of a series of tubes or fins through which coolant flows to dissipate heat from the compressed air stream. Overall, this component plays an important role in enhancing engine performance and reducing emissions.
