DESCRIPTION
The Governor Weight (part number 650508) is a component found in diesel engines that helps regulate the engine's speed. It is typically located inside the fuel injection pump and works by controlling the amount of fuel that enters the engine. The Governor Weight consists of a set of weights that are attached to levers, which are in turn connected to a shaft. As the engine speed increases, centrifugal force causes the weights to move outward, which in turn moves the levers and adjusts the amount of fuel being injected into the engine. This helps maintain a consistent speed and prevents over-revving or stalling. Overall, the Governor Weight plays an important role in ensuring proper engine performance and longevity.
