DESCRIPTION
The governor barrel, also known as the fuel control actuator or fuel metering valve, is a component of a diesel engine's fuel injection system. It is responsible for regulating the amount of fuel that enters the engine cylinders during combustion. The governor barrel works by controlling the movement of a plunger that adjusts the pressure on the injector pump's internal springs. This, in turn, regulates how much fuel is delivered to the injectors and allows for precise control over engine speed and power output. The governor barrel is a critical component in ensuring efficient and reliable operation of diesel engines in trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles.
