DESCRIPTION
The Governor Drive, also known as part number 102998, is a component found in diesel engines that helps regulate the speed of the engine. It works by controlling the amount of fuel that enters the engine based on its rotational speed. The governor drive is typically located near the fuel injection pump and consists of a series of gears and levers that work together to adjust fuel flow. When the engine reaches a certain speed, the governor drive will reduce fuel flow to maintain a constant RPM and prevent over-speeding. This ensures optimal performance, efficiency, and safety while operating heavy-duty trucks or other diesel-powered vehicles.
