DESCRIPTION
The dipstick is a component of the engine oil system in a truck. It can be identified by its unique part number, 4945973. The dipstick is a long, thin, metallic rod that extends from the engine block and into the oil pan to measure the level of engine oil. When checking the oil level, the dipstick is removed from its tube and wiped clean with a cloth or paper towel. It is then reinserted into the tube and removed again to read the current oil level on its markings. This simple but essential tool ensures that there is enough lubrication for proper engine function and helps prevent damage caused by low oil levels.
