A control rod (part number: 3932352) is a component of an engine's fuel injection system. It is responsible for controlling the movement of the fuel injector pump's internal components, which regulates the amount and timing of fuel delivery to the engine cylinders. The control rod itself is a long, slender metal rod that connects the fuel injector pump to the engine's governor assembly. As the engine operates, the governor adjusts its position in response to changes in load or speed, which in turn moves the control rod and adjusts fuel delivery accordingly.
