DESCRIPTION
The Camshaft Cover, also known as the valve cover, is an engine component that covers the top of the cylinder head and houses the camshaft(s) in a truck. It is typically made of metal or plastic and helps prevent oil leaks from the engine. The cover is bolted onto the cylinder head with a gasket in between to create a seal. Over time, the gasket can wear out and cause leaks which may lead to engine damage if not addressed. Regular maintenance of this part involves checking for oil leaks and replacing worn gaskets as needed.
