DESCRIPTION
A connecting rod bearing is a circular insert that sits within the connecting rod of an engine. It is designed to support the crankshaft and allow it to rotate smoothly. The connecting rod bearing is made from a durable material, such as steel or bronze, and is coated with a layer of soft metal, such as lead or aluminum. This soft metal layer helps to reduce friction between the bearing and the crankshaft, which in turn reduces wear on both components.
