DESCRIPTION
An Aftercooler (part number 4915293) is a device used in internal combustion engines, specifically diesel engines, to cool the compressed air before it enters the engine's cylinders. This helps increase the engine's efficiency and power output while reducing emissions. The aftercooler is typically located between the turbocharger and intake manifold and uses either air or water to dissipate heat from the compressed air. By cooling the air, more oxygen can be packed into each cylinder resulting in a more complete combustion process. This ultimately leads to better fuel economy and reduced exhaust emissions.
