DESCRIPTION
An Aftercooler, also known as an intercooler, is a component in a truck's engine that cools the compressed air from the turbocharger before it enters the engine's intake manifold. This cooling process increases the air density, which allows for more efficient combustion and increased power output. The Aftercooler is typically located between the turbocharger and the engine's intake manifold and consists of a series of tubes or fins through which coolant flows to reduce the temperature of the compressed air. Part number 3904308 specifically refers to an Aftercooler used in certain Cummins diesel engines.
