DESCRIPTION
A Spin-On Lube Filter is a replaceable filter cartridge designed to remove contaminants from the engine oil of a truck. The filter is made up of pleated paper or synthetic media that trap dirt, metal particles, and other debris. The filter element is housed in a canister that has a threaded base which screws onto the engine block. During operation, the oil pump pushes engine oil through the filter element where it is cleaned before returning to the engine. Over time, the filter becomes clogged with contaminants and must be replaced with a new one. The LF3487 is a specific model of Spin-On Lube Filter designed for use in certain makes and models of trucks.
